Occupational Therapist
Our client based in an acute service in Offaly is seeking a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist looking to develop their clinical skills in a busy acute hospital environment while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of high-quality, person-centred care across a range of clinical areas, including medical, surgical, orthopaedics, stroke, and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Complete comprehensive OT assessments and deliver individualised intervention plans
- Promote and support early discharge planning and functional independence
- Work collaboratively as part of the Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team
- Liaise with patients, families, carers and community services to ensure seamless care
- Maintain clear clinical records and contribute to ongoing audit and service development initiatives
- Participate in clinical supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) activities
Essential Criteria for the Occupational Therapist:
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills
- A strong interest in working in an acute hospital setting
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Desirable Criteria:
- Clinical placement or post-qualification experience in an acute hospital setting
- Experience in manual handling, discharge planning or cognitive rehabilitation
- Familiarity with HIQA standards and clinical governance principles
