Are you a skilled and dedicated physiotherapist looking for an exciting locum opportunity? At Medforce we are seeking a qualified and experienced physiotherapist to join our team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic chance to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing high-quality care to patients in need. As a locum physiotherapist, your primary responsibility will be to provide temporary physiotherapy services across different healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and community health centers. You will work with patients of all ages, assessing their physical condition, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help improve their mobility, function, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical condition, including evaluating range of motion, strength, posture, and functional abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Implement and supervise therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, electrotherapy modalities, and other interventions to improve patients’ physical function.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress during treatment, modifying interventions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide appropriate advice and recommendations for assistive devices, orthotics, and adaptive equipment to enhance patients’ mobility and independence.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards, following best practices, guidelines, and legal requirements for physiotherapy practice.
- Maintain continuing professional development by staying updated with advancements in physiotherapy research, techniques, and technologies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Must be CORU registered.
- Registration with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) or eligibility for registration.
- Previous experience working as a physiotherapist in various clinical settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and/or pediatric physiotherapy, depending on the specific position requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions while adhering to professional guidelines.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different locations and adapt to varying patient caseloads.
- Good organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
