Interim Director of Nursing (1-Year Maternity Leave Cover)
Location: Ranelagh, Dublin 6
Salary: €80,000 per annum + 10% performance bonus + pension
Contract: Fixed-Term (12 Months – Maternity Leave Cover)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Annual Leave: 25 days
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Interim Director of Nursing to lead a well-established nursing home in Dublin 6 on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional standards of resident care while leading and supporting a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall clinical governance, operational management, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day leadership of the nursing home, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management of the nursing team.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to all residents.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Lead clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management.
- Manage staffing, rostering, performance management, and staff development.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative working environment.
- Work closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the home consistently meets and exceeds quality and compliance standards.
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland pin (NMBI).
- A minimum of 3 years’ management experience within the last 6 years.
- At least 3 of those years must have been in a nursing home environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to manage teams and drive high standards of clinical care.
