Director of Nursing
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care within our nursing home. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with HIQA standards, provide strong clinical leadership, and support the development and performance of a skilled and dedicated care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest standards of nursing and social care for all residents.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Oversee care planning, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement.
- Lead staff recruitment, induction, training, and performance management.
- Manage budgets, administrative processes, and resident financial oversight.
- Maintain strong relationships with community services and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Manage and investigate complaints and service improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a live NMBI registration.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience caring for older persons.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a healthcare management role.
- Post-registration management qualification in healthcare or related field.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
