Job Title: Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Primary Care – Urology Focus, Adult Population)
Employment Type: Initially 6 months with a view to extend, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday (part-time hours may be considered)
Travel Requirement: Required between multiple primary care sites within West Roscommon/East Galway (networks 7,8,9)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our client’s well-established Primary Care team in West Roscommon/East Galway, specialising in urology and pelvic health physiotherapy for adults. In this role, you will lead a dedicated caseload focused on both men’s and women’s health, addressing a range of urological and pelvic health issues. This is a unique opportunity to drive patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary setting, with travel across networks 7, 8 and 9 (West Roscommon/East Galway) to ensure accessible, localised care for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct specialized assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for adult patients with urological and pelvic health conditions, including pelvic pain, incontinence, and post-surgical rehabilitation
- Deliver expert physiotherapy interventions for both women’s and men’s health, supporting pregnancy-related pelvic health, post-prostatectomy care, and other urology-related needs
- Provide education, support, and lifestyle guidance to patients to optimize recovery, independence, and long-term health outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including general practitioners, urologists, and women’s health specialists, to ensure integrated care pathways
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of patient progress and adhere to relevant healthcare protocols
- Travel between primary care sites within West Roscommon to ensure accessible patient care across the community
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU
- Registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in physiotherapy, with a strong background in urology and pelvic health (Clinical Specialist level)
- Advanced expertise in addressing complex urological and pelvic health conditions for both men and women
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient-centered care skills
- Valid driving license and access to a car for travel between sites
Preferred Attributes:
- Additional certifications or advanced training in pelvic health or urology physiotherapy
- Demonstrated leadership in a clinical setting, with experience in mentoring or teaching preferred
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
