Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our established nursing home in Dublin 6 on a permanent basis.
Working closely with the Director of Nursing, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, supporting the nursing team, and promoting a culture of excellence throughout the home. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse leader looking to progress their career within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing in the overall clinical and operational management of the nursing home.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care to all residents.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing and care teams.
- Assist with staff management, rostering, recruitment, performance management, and training.
- Promote and maintain compliance with HIQA standards, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
- Act as the Director of Nursing in their absence when required.
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Pin.
- A minimum of 3 years’ management experience within the last 6 years.
- At least 3 of those years must have been in a nursing home environment.
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and Irish healthcare regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and deliver high standards of clinical care.
