Assistant Director of Nursing
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to provide clinical leadership and support high-quality, person-centred care. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the ADON will oversee day-to-day clinical operations, staff supervision, rostering, clinical governance, audits, and risk management, deputising for the DON as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent nursing and social care standards in line with HIQA and company policies.
- Conduct ward rounds, review care plans, and monitor resident outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and support CNMs, staff nurses, and carers; oversee induction, training, and performance appraisals.
- Monitor clinical practice, medication management, audits, hygiene, and risk assessments.
- Foster teamwork and effective communication within the clinical and wider care team.
- Engage with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure person-centred care.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications & Experience
- Registered nurse on the appropriate part of the NMBI live register.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Previous management experience in healthcare with a proven track record of clinical leadership.
