An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Nursing / Person in Charge (PIC) to join a well-established residential care provider committed to delivering outstanding, person-centred care to older people.
This leadership role is ideal for an experienced nurse manager who is passionate about clinical excellence, team development and maintaining the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the nursing home.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care in line with HIQA standards and national best practice.
- Maintain full compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Lead, mentor and develop the nursing and care teams, fostering a positive working environment.
- Drive continuous quality improvement through audits, governance and clinical oversight.
- Oversee staffing, workforce planning and resource management.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families and external healthcare professionals.
- Manage budgets, occupancy and operational performance in collaboration with senior management.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of three years’ management experience within residential care for older persons.
- Minimum of three years’ nursing experience caring for older people.
- Management qualification in healthcare or a related discipline (or working towards one).
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage change and deliver exceptional standards of care.
