Clinical Psychologist – Paediatric
The Clinical Psychologist will provide high-quality psychological assessment, intervention, consultation, and support services to children and young people within a primary care facility in North Dublin. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based psychological services to children presenting with developmental, emotional, behavioural, neurodevelopmental, and complex clinical needs. We will accept Staff or Senior grades as I have multiple positions.
Responsibility of Clinical Psychologist – Paediatric
- Conduct specialist psychological assessments for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of developmental, emotional, behavioural, and neuropsychological difficulties.
- Undertake cognitive, behavioural, emotional, adaptive functioning, and diagnostic assessments where appropriate.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to the needs of the child and family.
- Provide individual, family, and group interventions as required.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and intervention planning.
- Provide consultation and psychoeducation to parents, carers, schools, and relevant professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with HSE standards and professional guidelines.
- Participate in case conferences, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Manage and prioritise caseloads effectively within service demands.
- Participate in clinical supervision and continuing professional development.
- Complete clinical documentation and reports within agreed timelines.
- Maintain statistics and activity data as required.
- Participate in service meetings and operational planning.
- Support efficient management of waiting lists and referrals.
Requirements of Clinical Psychologist – Paediatric
- A Doctorate in Clinical or Educational Psychology or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health
- Experience completing psychological assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions within paediatric, disability, or child-focused services.
