Social Worker
We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Social Workers to join a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team based in Ballymun. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting children, adolescents, and their families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker:
- Carry out comprehensive psychosocial assessments with children, adolescents, and families
- Provide therapeutic interventions and support tailored to individual needs
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and allied health professionals
- Develop and implement care plans in line with a recovery-oriented and family-centred approach
- Engage with external agencies including Tusla, schools, and community services
- Participate in safeguarding and child protection processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
Senior Role Responsibilities (in addition to above)
- Manage a complex caseload and provide clinical leadership within the team
- Support and supervise junior staff and students
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide specialist input into complex cases and multidisciplinary decision-making
Requirements for the Social Worker:
- Degree in Social Work
- CORU registration (or eligibility)
- For Staff Grade: relevant experience working with children, adolescents, or mental health services
- For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in CAMHS or child and adolescent services desirable
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience in child protection and safeguarding
- Knowledge of relevant mental health and social care legislation
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
