Speech And Language Therapist
We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Speech & Language Therapists to join the team at an Acute setting in Tullamore. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy acute hospital setting, working with adult patients across a range of clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech & Language Therapists:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of communication and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
- Work with adult patients across acute services including medical, surgical, and rehabilitation wards
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including consultants, nursing staff, dietitians, and allied health professionals
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
Senior Role Responsibilities (in addition to above)
- Manage a complex caseload and provide clinical leadership within the SLT service
- Support and supervise junior staff and students
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide specialist input in dysphagia management
Requirements for the Speech & Language Therapists:
- Degree in Speech & Language Therapy
- CORU registration (or eligibility)
- For Staff Grade: relevant clinical experience in SLT
- For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in dysphagia management is essential
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience in an acute hospital setting
- Postgraduate training in dysphagia or related areas
- Previous HSE or similar healthcare experience
