Psychologist / Senior Psychologist – Children’s Services | Tipperary
The Role

Location: Tipperary (Positions across various network teams).

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (Part-time options may be considered).

Service: Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT).

Salary: HSE Consolidated Pay Scales.
-
Staff Grade: €58,823 – €94,514 (DOE).
-
Senior Grade: €96,057 – €112,908 (DOE).

You will provide comprehensive psychological services, focusing on the strengths and needs of the child within their natural environments. This includes diagnostic assessments, therapeutic interventions, and collaborative goal-setting with families and the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities

Interdisciplinary Working: Collaborating closely with OT, SLT, Physiotherapy, and Social Work to deliver integrated care.

Assessment & Intervention: Conducting developmental, cognitive, and emotional-behavioural assessments and providing evidence-based therapeutic support.

Family-Centred Practice: Empowering parents and carers through consultation, coaching, and psycho-educational workshops.

Service Development: (Senior Grade) Providing clinical supervision to staff grade psychologists and trainees, and leading service improvement initiatives.
Requirements

Education: A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology (Level 10 / Doctorate).

Validation: A Validation Letter from the Department of Health is required for all qualifications obtained outside of Ireland.

Experience:

Staff Grade: Experience with children and disability services is highly desirable.

Senior Grade: Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience, including significant experience in the field of paediatrics or disability.

Skills: Expertise in neurodiversity-affirming practices and complex clinical formulation.

Transport: A full clean driver’s licence and access to a car is essential for travel within the Tipperary network area.
