Social Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Child and Family Agency in either Athy or Naas. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team providing child protection, welfare, and family support services within the community.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families while working within a structured, supportive statutory environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker:
- Undertake child protection and welfare assessments in line with national policy and legislation
- Manage a defined caseload of children and families
- Develop and implement care and safety plans
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes
- Prepare reports for court and attend court proceedings as required
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, foster carers, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with Tusla policies
- Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development
Essential Criteria for the Social Worker:
- Qualification in Social Work recognised by CORU
- Current registration with CORU (or eligibility to register)
- Experience working with children and families
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and policy
- Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively within a team
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working within a statutory child protection service
- Court work experience
- Experience in duty/intake or assessment services
