Senior Occupational Therapist
We are actively seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Dublin. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, family-centred services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex developmental needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about supporting children with disabilities and working collaboratively within a progressive, interdisciplinary team model.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with complex needs, including physical, sensory, and developmental disabilities
- Deliver services in line with the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model
- Develop and implement individualised, goal-focused intervention plans in partnership with families
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, care planning, and case discussions
- Provide clinical supervision and support to staff grade OTs and students as required
- Participate in service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards
Essential Criteria for the Senior Occupational Therapist:
- BSc (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
- Current CORU registration
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience
- Experience working with children and young people with disabilities
- Strong knowledge of family-centred practice and interdisciplinary team working
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within a CDNT or disability service
- Postgraduate training relevant to paediatrics, sensory integration, or assistive technology
- Experience supervising staff or students
