Speech and Language Therapist
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist to join the Adult Primary Care Team based Ballyfermot. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive healthcare setting, delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults with a range of communication and swallowing needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing difficulties.
- Manage a clinical caseload in line with service priorities and best practice guidelines.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team including nursing, medical, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, and social work colleagues.
- Participate in discharge planning and liaise with community and primary care services as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital, HSE, and CORU standards.
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development.
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively within a healthcare setting.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with adult populations.
- Experience in areas such as dysphagia, neurology, rehabilitation, mental health, or care of the older person.
- Previous experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or community healthcare setting.
