Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Laois. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a family-centred, interdisciplinary model supporting children with a range of developmental and functional needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with disabilities and developmental delays in line with CDNT pathways.
- Manage a paediatric caseload under the guidance and supervision of senior occupational therapy staff.
- Support children’s participation in daily activities including self-care, play, school participation, and sensory regulation.
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work.
- Engage with families, carers, schools, and relevant agencies to support holistic, child-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
- Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives, and continuous professional development.
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- CORU registration (mandatory).
- Interest and/or experience working with children with disabilities or developmental needs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in paediatrics, disability services, or CDNT settings.
- Knowledge of family-centred and interdisciplinary models of care.
- Experience delivering group programmes or parent education sessions.
