We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Grade Psychologists to join HSE Primary Care and Adult Mental Health Services across Galway and Roscommon.
These posts offer the chance to work within well-established, multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to both children and adults. Current Vacancies
- Primary Care Child Services (PC Child) – Network 7: Staff Grade or Senior Grade Psychologist. Base: Athenry. 12 month contract.
- Primary Care (Child) Wait List Initiative Programme: 3 x Staff Grade Psychologist positions. Base: Galway City and County. 6 month contract (extension possible).
- Adult Mental Health Services GR3: Senior Clinical Psychologist. Base: Ballybane Galway City. 12 month contract.
- Adult Mental Health Services (base Ballinasloe) – GR5 North: Senior Clinical Psychologist. 12 month contract.
Role Responsibilities
Senior Grade Psychologists will:

Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within Primary Care or Adult Mental Health settings

Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support integrated care pathways
-
Offer clinical supervision and professional support to trainee and staff grade psychologists
-
Contribute to service evaluation, audit and development initiatives
-
Provide consultation, training and clinical leadership as required
Staff Grade Psychologists will:
-
Deliver psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions under appropriate supervision

Support individual and group-based interventions
-
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning processes
Essential Criteria
-
Recognised qualification in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology
-
Eligibility for employment within HSE psychology services (Child or Adult)

Relevant experience in mental health or related clinical settings
-
Strong skills in assessment, formulation and multidisciplinary collaboration
-
Commitment to evidence-based practice and recovery-oriented care
