Occupational Therapist
Medforce Recruitment are seeking both a Staff Grade and Senior Occupational Therapist to join the General Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Wicklow.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, person-centred care to adults with mental health needs in the community. You will work alongside psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive assessment and intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Provide occupational therapy assessment and interventions to adults presenting with a range of mental health needs.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans aimed at promoting independence, recovery, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
- Work collaboratively with the MDT, attending team meetings and contributing to care planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and HSE standards.
- Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
- Senior OT: Provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior staff and students, and contribute to leadership within the service.
Essential Requirements
Staff Grade:
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience working with adults in mental health or a related area (placement or post-qualification experience accepted).
Senior Grade:
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, including significant experience in mental health.
- CORU registration.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and lead on complex cases.
- Experience supervising junior therapists or students.
Desirable Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience delivering group interventions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
