Speech and Language Therapist
Medforce Healthcare Recruitment are inviting applications for the position of Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist to join the Acute Dysphagia Team based in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated Speech and Language Therapist who wishes to further develop their clinical skills in an acute hospital environment.
Role Overview
As a member of the acute multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to adult patients presenting with communication and swallowing disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
You will work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to ensure the highest standard of care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Provide assessment and management of patients with dysphagia and other acquired communication disorders.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and contribute to the development of care pathways.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Engage in continuing professional development and contribute to departmental audits and service improvement.
Essential Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Hold a CORU Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Demonstrated experience in adult acute care and dysphagia management.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Completion of HSE Dysphagia Competency Training or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in an acute hospital or similar medical setting.
