Senior Occupational Therapist
We are currently recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our client’s progressive and family-centred Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) in Meath. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive, interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex needs arising from disability.
The Role:
As a key member of the team, you will provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention to children with a range of developmental needs. You will work in partnership with families and other professionals to promote participation, independence, and inclusion in everyday activities, using a strengths-based and family-centred approach.
You will also play a pivotal role in clinical leadership, supervision, service development, and supporting junior colleagues and students.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Deliver individual and group occupational therapy interventions in line with best practice
- Support goal-setting with children and families using a family-centred model
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff grade OTs and students
- Participate in service planning, quality improvement, and inter-agency collaboration
- Contribute to ongoing development of services under the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model
Essential Criteria for the Occupational Therapist:
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatrics or disability services
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
- Proven experience in managing a complex caseload and delivering high-quality interventions
Desirable:
- Postgraduate training in sensory integration, feeding, assistive technology, or other relevant areas
- Experience working in CDNTs or with children with neurodevelopmental disorders
- Experience in service development and quality improvement initiatives
