We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a well-established nursing home located in Wexford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents in a warm and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Nursing to uphold and advance the highest standards of clinical care, while fostering a homely and respectful atmosphere for all residents.
Key Responsibilities

Support the DON in leading the clinical and strategic direction of the nursing home.

Ensure the implementation and adherence to all policies, procedures, and HIQA standards.

Maintain up-to-date and compliant clinical documentation, including use of Epicare.

Conduct internal audits and spot checks with follow-up action plans.

Oversee and manage clinical risk, complaints, and incidents with timely reporting and corrective actions.

Act as Person-in-Charge in the absence of the DON.

Mentor, supervise, and appraise staff, contributing to professional development and continuous improvement.

Ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and resident wellbeing.

Coordinate staff rostering and lead a professional, punctual, and dedicated team.
Requirements
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an ADON or acting ADON role (desirable).

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

In-depth knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant regulations.

Post-registration qualification in gerontology and/or dementia care (highly desirable).

Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
