The Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to support adults with intellectual disabilities in a community-based setting in Kildare. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support, empowering residents to live fulfilling and independent lives in line with their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Care Worker:
- Support residents with daily living activities, social inclusion, and personal development.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of individual care/support plans.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with HIQA standards and organisational policies.
- Contribute to a positive, homely, and inclusive community environment.
Essential Requirements for the Social Care Worker:
- Relevant qualification in Social Care or a related field (minimum Level 7 on the NFQ).
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or in a residential care setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to person-centred, values-based care.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable:
- Full driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of HIQA regulations and New Directions.
- Experience in community living or intentional communities is an advantage.
