Medforce Recruitment is delighted to partner with an established Adult Disability Service in Navan to recruit a 0.8 WTE Senior Occupational Therapist. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work within a community-based, multidisciplinary team supporting adults with physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities.
As a Senior OT, you will use your clinical expertise to promote independence, enhance functional outcomes, and improve quality of life for clients with a range of complex presentations.
Role Overview:
This is a community-based role providing specialist OT intervention to adults across the lifespan. You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and will also have a strong focus on client-centred care, environmental adaptation, and the promotion of meaningful participation in daily life.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and reports
- Deliver goal-oriented interventions across physical, sensory, and ID needs
- Provide home visits, environmental assessments, and equipment recommendations
- Collaborate with MDT colleagues including physiotherapy, SLT, nursing, psychology, and social work
- Support care planning, family liaison, and advocacy for service users
- Supervise junior OT staff and students
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects
Requirements for the Senior Occupational Therapist:
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience (ideally in disability or community settings)
- Experience working with adults with physical, sensory, or intellectual disabilities
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and teamworking skills
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport (community travel involved)
