Senior Physiotherapist (Urology)
Location: West Roscommon/East Galway
Contract: 6 months initially, Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week (Part-time hours 17.5, may be considered for this role)

Medforce are looking for a skilled and compassionate Senior Physiotherapist to join a busy Primary Care team in West Roscommon/East Galway. This role has a focus on an Adult Urology caseload with emphasis on Women’s and Men’s Health.
In this role, you will support patients facing pelvic health challenges, addressing a range of urological conditions. This position offers the unique opportunity to lead and grow a specialised caseload. You will cover networks 7, 8 and 9 including East Galway. Traveling between these primary care sites to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans for adult patients with urological and pelvic health conditions, including incontinence, pelvic pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation
- Provide expert physiotherapy interventions focused on both women’s and men’s health issues, including pregnancy-related pelvic health needs and post-prostatectomy care
- Educate patients on lifestyle adjustments, exercises, and preventative strategies to enhance recovery and quality of life
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urologists, general practitioners, and women’s health professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Document patient progress and maintain compliance with relevant healthcare policies and standards
- Travel across primary care sites within West Roscommon to provide accessible, localized care
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU
- Registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant setting, with specific expertise in urology and pelvic health physiotherapy preferred
- Strong understanding of adult urological and pelvic health issues with demonstrated experience in both women’s and men’s health
- Excellent communication, empathy, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car for travel between sites
Preferred Attributes:
- Advanced training or certifications in pelvic health physiotherapy, urology, or a related specialty
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- Experience in a primary care or community-based setting
