Staff Grade Physiotherapist – Primary Care
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Staff Grade Physiotherapist to join our primary care team in Limerick. This role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services to a diverse client population, supporting the improvement of physical function and promoting holistic well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a community-oriented environment, managing a varied caseload that includes clients of all ages with musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory conditions, among others.
Key Responsibilities of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- Conduct thorough physical assessments to determine clients’ needs, limitations, and goals.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing overall function.
- Set realistic goals in partnership with clients and their families, adjusting plans as necessary based on progress and needs.
- Provide individual and group physiotherapy interventions, utilizing best-practice techniques for musculoskeletal, neurological, and chronic conditions.
- Facilitate exercises, manual therapy, mobility training, and other rehabilitative strategies to support clients’ functional independence.
- Guide clients in the use of assistive devices, ergonomic adjustments, and techniques to support daily activities.
- Educate clients and their families on injury prevention, self-management, and strategies for maintaining physical health and wellness.
- Develop and deliver educational sessions or workshops as needed to promote health literacy and prevent re-injury.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications to improve clients’ long-term health and quality of life.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, GPs, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals to optimize client care.
- Participate in case reviews, clinical meetings, and team discussions to ensure holistic client management.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and caregivers to support understanding and active participation in treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Adhere to all relevant standards of care, data protection policies, and ethical guidelines for physiotherapy practice.
Requirements of of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Full registration with CORU (Ireland’s Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as a Physiotherapist.
- Clinical experience, ideally in a primary care, community care, or outpatient setting.
- Experience in managing a mixed caseload with clients across the lifespan is advantageous.
