Medforce are proud to be partnering with a very well-known facility that is involved in providing the very best psychiatric care to patients in Dublin.
My client based in South Dublin are looking for a Staff Grade Social Worker who
will be involved in assessing the psycho-social needs of patients in the context of their family and social environment. An important focus of this work involves addressing relevant issues and exploring options to enhance personal and family growth. Therapy is provided through individual, couple, family and group sessions. An inherent tenet is the recognition of the rights and dignity of every individual. This work takes place within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
This position offers the opportunity to provide social work services both within the context of general adult psychiatry and also in the specialist inpatient/day treatment programmes. As appropriate family involvement is an integral part of the hospital services.
This is an initial contract position with strong possibility of extension or being made permanent of which I can provide more information on.
The general duties and requirements attached to this position are:
- To provide a professional social work service to the attending patient population, family and relevant others.
- To work as a member of the general adult multidisciplinary team, attend meetings, case conferences and other appropriate meetings.
- To work as a member of the specialist treatment team as appropriate.
- To liaise and report to the Head of Department, to receive supervision from designated Senior Social Worker and to attend the regular Social Work department meetings and to fully participate fully in the working of the Social Work Department as directed by the Head of Department or designate.
- To participate in clinical audit/research projects as directed by the Head of Department.
- To participate in in-service and external training where appropriate and relevant with the approval of the Head of Department.
- To uphold the code of ethics of professional social work practice.
- To be fully familiar with the terms of the Safety, health and Welfare at Work Act and all relevant policy documents of the Order i.e. Employee Handbook, Safety Statement, Guidelines for Investigation of Allegations of non-Accidental Injury and Abuse.
- To ensure that all departmental reports and Sevice records are confidential to the service and should in the first instance be submitted to the Head of Department and not circulated without the written permission of the Director or designated nominee. To ensure confidentiality in respect of matters which come to your knowledge in the course of your official duties.
