Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Meath, Ireland
Department: Speech and Language Therapy
Contract Type: Contract – 6 months with a view to extend/Full-Time/Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week
Our client is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care across a range of specialities in County Meath. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist to join our client’s forward-thinking Speech and Language Therapy department who provide essential services to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapy to patients of all ages, addressing a range of conditions including aphasia, dysarthria, voice disorders, and dysphagia.
- Patient and Family Support: Offer education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand and manage communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Continuous Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning and development to stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy: Must be eligible for membership with the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and have CORU registration.
- Clinical Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, though newly qualified therapists are encouraged to apply.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Empathy and Compassion: A strong commitment to patient-centered care, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
