Staff Grade Physiotherapist
The Staff Grade Physiotherapist will provide a high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy service to patients in line with professional standards, organisational policies, and national best practice. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote optimal functional independence, health, and wellbeing of service users in Drogheda and the surrounding catchment area.
Responsibilities of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy treatment programmes for patients in accordance with professional standards.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in line with legal and organisational requirements.
- Deliver patient-centred care, ensuring respect, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in discharge planning and onward referral processes as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and performance review processes.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, infection prevention and control policies, and risk management procedures.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain professional competence.
- Support the education and supervision of physiotherapy students as required.
- Participate in in-service training and contribute to knowledge sharing within the department.
- Manage a caseload efficiently, prioritising workload to meet service demands.
- Use information systems and data collection tools as required for service reporting.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Responsibilities of Staff Grade Physiotherapist
- A Third level Degree of Masters qualification in Physiotherapy eligible for CORU registration.
- Registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist at the time of appointment.
- Relevant post-qualification clinical experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working within an acute, community, or rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
