My client an acute Hospital in Drogheda is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join their dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Staff grade role to work across a range of general medical / surgical wards. You will be joining a supportive environment for newly qualified staff grades and with opportunities for CPD particularly for experienced staff grades looking to progress clinical skills.

Responsibilites of Speech and Language Therapist
- Provide comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy services to patients with a range of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat adult patients with complex speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.
- Work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to develop individualized care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and training to patients, their families, and staff to support communication and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records, adhering to hospital policies and relevant legislation.
- Participate in regular team meetings, supervision, and continued professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist
- A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (BSc/MSc).
- Registration with the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and CORU.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a similar setting, ideally within an acute hospital environment.
- Proven experience working with patients with complex medical conditions, including dysphagia and neurological disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
