Job Summary:
Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated Social Workers to join their Assessment and Intervention team, working specifically with Children in Care. This role is central to their mission of promoting the welfare and protection of children and supporting families through challenging times. As a Social Worker in this team, you will be responsible for carrying out assessments, planning interventions, and ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of children under their care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of children and their families to identify needs, risks, and strengths, using evidence-based tools and frameworks.
- Intervention Planning: Develop and implement intervention plans aimed at promoting the best outcomes for children in care. This includes working closely with foster carers, residential care providers, and other relevant professionals.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring timely reviews, updates, and adjustments to care plans as required.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, educators, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Safeguarding: Ensure that all safeguarding protocols are adhered to, promptly responding to any concerns or incidents in accordance with the company’s policies.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential records of all cases, providing regular reports and updates to supervisors and relevant authorities.
- Support & Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the children and families you work with, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld throughout the care process.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- A recognized qualification in Social Work and registration with CORU.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly within child protection or children in care settings.
- Strong knowledge of child protection policies, legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Desirable:
- Postgraduate experience in assessment and intervention.
- Experience in a similar role within the public sector.
