We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Social Worker to join an Assessment and Intervention Team in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The role focuses on working with children, young people, and their families to assess needs, manage risk, and implement timely interventions that promote positive outcomes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and supporting vulnerable individuals in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities of Social Worker – Assessment and Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families in response to referrals, ensuring timely identification of needs and risks.
- Use a variety of assessment frameworks (e.g., Signs of Safety, Child Protection Conferences) to inform decision-making.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in partnership with families and multi-agency teams.
- Provide targeted support, including direct work with children, to address identified needs and enhance resilience.
- Manage a caseload in accordance with statutory guidelines and organizational priorities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports to a high standard.
- Represent the organization at court proceedings, child protection conferences, and other relevant forums.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, and community organizations to deliver coordinated support.
- Act as an advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are central to planning and decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate risks, escalating concerns as necessary and taking appropriate actions to safeguard children and vulnerable individuals.
- Follow all legislative and organizational protocols regarding child protection and welfare.
- Engage in regular supervision and training to maintain and enhance professional competence.
- Contribute to the development of team processes and best practices.
Experience of a plSocial Worker – Assessment and Intervention
- A degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification) recognized by CORU (Regulating Health and Social Care Professionals).
- Current CORU registration as a Social Worker.
- Proven experience in child protection, welfare, or family support services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective assessment and intervention planning.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage children and families empathetically.
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary settings.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle a diverse caseload efficiently.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to support families from diverse backgrounds.
