Role Overview:
As a Social Care Worker in our Child Protection and Intervention Services, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and welfare of children at risk. You will engage directly with children, young people, and their families to assess, plan, and implement interventions that address their needs and protect their rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with children, young people, and their families who are referred for child protection services.
- Conduct assessments to identify risks, protective factors, and the needs of the child.
- Develop and implement care plans and interventions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and families, promoting resilience and coping mechanisms.
- Liaise with other agencies, such as schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Monitor the progress of care plans and report on the outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with legal and organisational standards.
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Social Care, Social Work, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in child protection or with vulnerable children and families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of child protection legislation and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Garda Vetting or equivalent required.
