Salary: Competitive, in line with HSE pay scales
Working Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday
Contract: 6 months
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join their dynamic Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Leitrim. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive multidisciplinary team environment, helping children and young people with complex needs reach their full potential.
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for children with a range of communication difficulties, including speech, language, social communication, and feeding issues. You will work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex disabilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
- Support, mentor, and provide clinical supervision to junior therapists and students.
- Engage with families and caregivers to provide education and support regarding their child’s communication needs.
- Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- A minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years working with children with disabilities.
- CORU registration or eligibility to register.
- Strong knowledge of the challenges and interventions related to communication disorders in children with developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a Children’s Disability Network Team.
- Postgraduate training in relevant areas such as feeding disorders, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), or autism spectrum disorders.
