We are currently recruiting a dynamic and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Paediatric Primary Care Team in Limerick. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children and families in their communities.
The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention to children presenting with a range of communication and feeding needs, and will play a key role in shaping and delivering services that reflect a family-centred, strengths-based model of care.
Key Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Manage a varied caseload of children aged 0–18 with speech, language, communication, and feeding difficulties
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed assessment, therapy, and consultation in clinics, schools, preschools, and homes
- Work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, providing coaching and support to empower families
- Liaise with other disciplines within the Primary Care team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and Public Health Nursing
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs and students
- Contribute to service planning, development, audit, and evaluation
- Engage in CPD and reflective practice in line with professional guidelines
Essential Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in paediatrics
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical reasoning skills
Desirable Experience:
- Additional training in parent coaching, early intervention, or school-age communication support
- Experience with feeding and swallowing (dysphagia) management (if relevant to the service)
- Experience working in Primary Care or community-based services
