Are you a skilled and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist seeking a rewarding opportunity in a Primary Care setting? Join our client’s dedicated team in Drogheda, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to adults in the community.
Role Overview
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist in Primary Care, you will assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders in adult clients. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving their goals, enhancing their quality of life, and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
- Deliver services in a variety of settings, including clinics, community locations, and domiciliary visits as required.
- Collaborate with primary care teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Offer education and training to clients, families, and caregivers.
- Supervise and support junior staff and students, fostering professional development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in line with organizational policies and CORU standards.
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registration: CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year working in a primary care or community setting with adults. Dysphagia training and experience are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team-working skills.
