Senior Physiotherapist – Respiratory
Medforce are currently seeking a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in Respiratory to join our client’s multidisciplinary team in a leading hospital in Kildare.
As the Senior Physiotherapist, you will lead, coordinate, and deliver high-quality physiotherapy services for patients requiring respiratory support across acute hospital wards, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning for patients with complex respiratory needs.
- Promote and support self-management strategies and provide appropriate onward referrals or signposting.
- Lead service delivery and clinical decision-making in respiratory physiotherapy, including tracheostomy and ventilatory care.
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated and efficient patient care.
- Support service development initiatives and mentor junior staff within the respiratory team.
Essential Criteria:
- A recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and current CORU registration.
- A minimum of 6 months recent experience working within an ICU setting.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in managing complex respiratory conditions and tracheostomy care.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the field of respiratory physiotherapy.
- Familiarity with current best practices in respiratory and critical care physiotherapy.
