Senior Physiotherapist
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy team at Castletroy Primary Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical physiotherapy services to patients with a wide range of conditions. As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will also support and mentor junior staff and contribute to the ongoing development of the physiotherapy department.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Physiotherapist
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and other health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Use a range of evidence-based interventions to manage complex conditions and enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.
- Supervise and support junior physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and students.
- Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to develop skills and knowledge within the team.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and clinical audits.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to deliver holistic care.
- Participate in team discussions regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
- Keep abreast of current trends in physiotherapy practices and integrate best practice guidelines into treatment.
- Attend relevant training sessions, courses, and professional development activities.
- Promote continuous learning within the physiotherapy team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with professional and legal standards.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and contribute to audit activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback on physiotherapy services and suggest improvements for patient care and service delivery.
Requirements of Senior Physiotherapist
- Hold a degree or diploma in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) and be a registered member of CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council).
- Minimum of three years post-graduate experience in a clinical physiotherapy setting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Proven experience in managing a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory conditions.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
