Senior Occupational Therapist
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with older people?
Medforce are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our client’s dedicated multidisciplinary team in the Older Person’s Unit at our client’s South Donegal community hospital.
This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality, person-centred care to older adults in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will play a vital role in promoting independence, enhancing quality of life, and supporting complex discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised OT interventions for older patients.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation, functional recovery, and safe transitions of care.
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff and students.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the Older Person’s Unit.
Essential Criteria
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with older people in an acute, community, or rehabilitation setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in cognitive assessments, falls prevention, or dementia care.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
