Senior Occupational Therapist
Our client is one of Ireland’s leading private healthcare providers, offering residential and supported living services to children and adults with complex needs, including mental health difficulties.
We’re recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our new low secure mental health service. You’ll work alongside a Basic Grade OT and a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex mental health presentations.

Clinical Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload within a low secure mental health unit, delivering assessment, evidence-based interventions, and group/individual therapy.
- Focus on promoting occupational engagement in self-care, work, and leisure activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused care.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and service-user goal setting.
- Provide detailed reports and documentation to professional standards.
- Supervise junior OTs and students and deputise for the OT Manager when required.
Education & Development:
- Participate in CPD, supervision, and relevant training.
- Support knowledge-sharing, present at relevant forums, and contribute to research.
Quality & Safety:
- Ensure practice aligns with HIQA and Mental Health Commission standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in clinical care.
What You Need:
Qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy
- CORU registered
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification, ideally in adult/forensic mental health
- Proven experience in therapeutic group facilitation and service development
Skills:
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and team collaboration
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Commitment to ongoing service and team development
