Salary: Competitive, in line with HSE pay scales
Working Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract
About Us:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team in a 20-bed rehabilitation unit, primarily focused on elderly care. Their goal is to support patients in regaining their independence and improving their quality-of-life following surgery, illness, or injury.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients’ physical, cognitive, and social abilities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, social workers) to deliver holistic care.
- Support patients in their transition from the rehabilitation setting to home or long-term care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the rehabilitation process and strategies for maintaining progress.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and students as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a rehabilitation setting, ideally with elderly clients.
- Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
