Medforce Recruitment are delighted to bring to the market this Senior Occupational Therapist role working in a twenty bed Rehabilitation Unit dealing with Elderly patients, this role is based in Wexford.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist with rehabilitation experience to join our team in a 20-bed unit that serves primarily elderly clients. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized therapy plans aimed at improving daily living skills, independence, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine clients’ functional abilities and rehabilitation needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving mobility, strength, and daily activities
- Provide hands-on therapy, adaptive equipment recommendations, and training to support independence in self-care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nurses, physical therapists, social workers) to ensure comprehensive care
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic techniques for home use and long-term care strategies
- Track client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to meet recovery goals
- Ensure compliance with all safety and healthcare regulations
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- CORU registered
- Minimum of three years OT experience with ideally some in a rehabilitation setting, preferably working with elderly clients
- Strong knowledge of geriatric care, cognitive and physical rehabilitation
