Senior Dietitian
My client a Children’s Disabilities unit in Carlow is seeking a Senior Dietitian. This role involves providing specialized nutrition and dietetic care to children with complex needs associated with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Dietitian
- Assess and manage the nutritional needs of children within the CDNT.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Nurses.
- Provide clinical supervision to staff-grade Dietitians.
- Participate in relevant meetings and case conferences.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence through continuous professional development.
- Offer nutrition education to healthcare professionals and families.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of nutrition education materials.
- Comply with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and safe professional practices.
- Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Report adverse incidents or near misses.
- Contribute to policy development, performance monitoring, and business planning.
- Maintain appropriate records in accordance with organizational and professional requirements.
- Prepare progress reports and statistics as required.
Key requirements of Dietitian
- Statutory registration as a Dietitian with the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
- A minimum of three years of post-qualification dietetic experience.
- In-depth clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
