Job Description:
Our client is responsible for a wide range of statutory functions including child protection, alternative care, regulatory services, and family support services. As part of its continuous improvement program, they focus on enhancing practice, culture, and structure across its services, with an operating budget exceeding €800 million and a workforce of 5,000 spread across 350 locations nationwide.
Purpose of the Role:
The Professionally Qualified Social Worker will provide social work services that aim to improve the health and social well-being of service users within local communities. This will be achieved through the implementation of an accessible, equitable, and person-centered service.
Reporting Relationship:
You will report to the Head of Discipline for clinical governance and clinical supervision, following the professional line management structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Professional/Clinical
- Serve as a direct point of access for the community, providing social assessments and interventions for children, youth, families, and groups.
- Conduct initial assessments and develop referral procedures with other social work services.
- Co-create early interventions and social action strategies in collaboration with service users.
- Manage a caseload while providing emotional and practical support to service users and their families.
- Advocate for the needs of service users, either empowering them to advocate for themselves or representing them as necessary.
- Collaborate with other agencies and services to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review person-centered care plans and their outcomes.
Health & Safety
- Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including HIQA standards.
- Actively participate in sustainability initiatives to promote a low-carbon, efficient health service.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Registered in the Social Work Register maintained by CORU.
- Must maintain live annual registration with the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU.
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to effectively discharge the duties of the role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong professional knowledge and evidence-based practice experience.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and manage care effectively within complex systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to high standards of service and continuous professional development.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Other Requirements:
Access to transport is required as the position may involve travel.
Working Hours:
35 hours per week
Annual Leave:
29 days per year (Full-time equivalent)
