Occupational Therapist – Adult Physical & Sensory Disabilities
Medforce are proud to be working on this Occupational Therapist role in Dundalk, Co Louth, The aim of this position is to provide high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy assessment and intervention to adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities, supporting their independence, participation, and quality of life in home and community settings.
Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist – Adult Physical & Sensory Disabilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and treatment to adults with a range of physical and sensory disabilities.
- Deliver goal-oriented interventions in areas such as self-care, functional mobility, environmental adaptation, assistive technology, and sensory processing.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, public health nurses, and social workers.
- Participate in service planning and development, contributing to the implementation of evidence-based practices.
- Liaise with families, carers, primary care teams, disability services, and external agencies.
- Provide home visits for assessments and interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and reports.
- Participate in clinical audits, supervision, CPD activities, and performance reviews.
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g. Disability Act, HIQA standards).
- Support service users in navigating pathways to specialist services, housing adaptation grants, or equipment provision.
Requirements of Occupational Therapist – Adult Physical & Sensory Disabilities
- Hold a recognised professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Be registered (or eligible for registration) with CORU – the Health and Social Care Professionals Council.
- Demonstrable experience in adult physical or sensory disability services is highly desirable.
