Occupational Therapist
Medforce are seeking both Staff Grade and Senior Occupational Therapists to join a dynamic Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Donegal. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist passionate about working with children and young people with complex needs and their families, providing high-quality, family-centred care.
Role Summary:
The successful candidates will work as part of an established interdisciplinary team providing assessment and intervention services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex disabilities. The team follows a family-centred model of practice in line with Progressing Disability Services (PDS).
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support individualised care plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of person-centred goals.
- Support and educate families and school staff in strategies that promote participation and independence.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards.
- Participate in team meetings, service planning, and continuous professional development activities.
Essential Criteria for the Occupational Therapist:
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Qualification recognised by CORU.
- Experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities (for Staff Grade).
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, including experience within disability services (for Senior Grade).
- Full driver’s licence and access to a car.
Desirable:
- Experience working as part of a CDNT or similar interdisciplinary service.
- Knowledge of Progressing Disability Services (PDS) framework.
