We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in County Laois. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to children and young people aged 0-18 years with complex needs associated with disabilities. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, providing family-centered supports to enhance children’s participation in daily life.
Key Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the occupational and functional needs of children in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized, goal-oriented intervention plans in collaboration with children, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Prioritize caseload based on clinical needs and family goals, as outlined in Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP).
- Attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated goal setting and support for children and their families.
- Document all assessments, intervention plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with professional standards and service policies.
- Provide flexible interventions tailored to meet the varied needs of children, including individual therapy sessions and parent education.
- Promote collaborative working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to quality assurance and clinical audit activities.
- Participate in the Assessment of Need (AON) process as assigned.
- Undertake the Key Worker role as required, coordinating services and supports for assigned children and families.
Role Requirements of Occupational Therapis
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist or eligibility for registration.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare or disability service.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Full clean driving license and access to own vehicle.
