Job Title: Paediatric Dietitian – Children with Disabilities

Our client is looking for a compassionate and experienced Paediatric Dietitian to join their dedicated team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and their families.
Job Overview:
As a Paediatric Dietitian specializing in children with disabilities, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement individualized nutrition plans. Your role is to ensure that each child receives the proper nutrition tailored to their unique needs, which may include managing feeding difficulties, growth issues, or specific medical conditions that impact their diet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for children with various disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and developmental conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans that support the overall health, growth, and development of each child.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create holistic treatment plans.
- Provide guidance and education to families and caregivers on nutrition-related issues and feeding strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of each child’s nutritional status, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in paediatric nutrition and disability care.
- Advocate for the nutritional needs of children with disabilities within the healthcare team and broader community.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuing education activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- CORU registration
- Experience working with paediatric patients, especially those with disabilities, is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of special feeding techniques and medical nutrition therapy for children with complex needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for improving the quality of life for children with disabilities.
