Clinical Specialist Radiographer – CT
Medforce have partnered with one of the most technologically advanced private hospitals in Europe to hire a Clinical Specialist Radiographer (CT). This position is located in South Dublin.
The Clinical Specialist Radiographer will deliver high-quality patient care in line with the hospital’s core values of quality, respect, compassion, and excellence. You will lead the CT service, support staff, and ensure efficient daily operations in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Operations
- Lead and coordinate CT service delivery daily.
- Manage staff supervision, service planning, and resource use.
- Ensure quality standards, patient safety, and service efficiency.
Technical & Clinical Oversight
- Maintain expertise in CT and other radiology areas to support on-call service.
- Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and upgrade planning.
- Ensure staff competence in IV cannulation and injector use.
- Keep current with clinical and technical advancements.
Training & Development
- Provide training, support, and supervision for staff and students.
- Promote professional development and ensure adherence to standards.
Governance & Safety
- Implement risk, infection control, and radiation safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with Irish and EU radiation legislation (S.I. 30/2019, S.I. 256/2018).
- Address incidents and complaints per hospital procedures.
Service Improvement
- Support service development and budgetary planning.
- Assist with departmental audits, policy updates, and accreditation prep.
- Participate in staff rotation planning and HR discussions with management.
Quality
- Support ongoing quality improvement and patient/staff safety initiatives.
Person Specification
- BSc(Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent)
- Postgraduate diploma in CT (required)
- CORU registered
- Management training (desirable)
- Minimum 6 years CT experience, or 3 years with a postgraduate CT qualification
- Experience in cardiac CT, biopsies, and virtual colonoscopy
- Proficient in IV cannulation and contrast administration
